started
out life to not only honor but also to raise awareness for the
first Mosque in America, which happens to be in Biddeford. As
I got more involved with graffiti I elevated the simple phrase
to designate monuments I encountered everyday. I purchased Shepard
Fairey’s book “Supply and Demand” and read
about his views of Phenomenology. This blew my mind and I knew
that this simple phrase had a higher calling. I made the stickers and set out to do some work. What happened
was a whirlwind adventure, an accidental collaboration, and developed
beyond stickers. Being a Graphic Designer, Printmaker, Graffiti
Artist and forever a boy at heart, I knew that text could be
a monument. I fell in love with the versatility of the phrase.
If the sticker was placed in front of a Starbucks the viewer
could perceive that I was saying that I was honoring Caffeine,
or raising awareness to corporate consumer domination. Yet if
is on a pair of girls booty shorts, the viewer
could say I am paying homage to the feminine curve, or making
a big butt joke.

Phe-nom-e-nol-o-gy is not only one heck of a tongue twister but also the study
of You, the viewer and your consciousness to your surroundings. The main goal
of Phenomenology is to re-awaken you to your surroundings and to question your
environment, to question everything.
